Fourteen trainees from thirteen countries (Bangladesh‚ Cambodia‚ Philippines‚ Sri Lanka‚ Vietnam‚ Ethiopia‚ Kenya‚ Morocco‚ South Sudan‚ Sudan‚ Cuba‚ Dominica‚ Fiji) gathered at JICA Kyushu in Kitakyushu for one month from Sep.3rd. to Oct.5th‚ 2024. Technical training on integrated water resources management was carried out.

Dear Representatives of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)‚ Kitakyushu International Technno-cooperative Association (KITA)‚ and all esteemed guests‚ warm greetings to you all.
On behalf of all the participants of 2024 Practical Integrated Water Resource Management (IWRM) capacity building program‚ I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude for Japanese government‚ JICA and KITA. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the course leader Ogata san‚ to the program officer Kawano san and to the course coordinator and interpreter Yamane san for their dedication and commitment during the course period.


Site Visit 1
The dedication of the lecturers and the quality of the training materials provided were truly commendable‚ thus we would like to acknowledge all the lecturers for sharing their immense knowledge‚ diverse perspectives‚ practical insights‚ and experience. The practical knowledge and skills we have gained from the course will be instrumental in enhancing our professional abilities and in fostering a more sustainable approach to integrated water resource management. We would like to give our deepest gratitude to Yachiyo Engineering‚ Hikari Nursery School‚ Chikugo Ozeki Office‚ Yamada Weir Land Improvement District‚ Fujinami Dam Office‚ Matsubara Dam Office‚ Kumamoto City Government‚ Ano Water Purification Plant‚ Fukuoka Centre Foundation of River and basin Integrated Communications‚ Fukuoka District Waterworks Agency - Seawater Desalinization Centre‚ Hiagari Sewage Treatment Center (and Sludge Fuel Center and Water Plaza)‚ Iizuka Plant (Fuji Clean Co. Ltd)‚ and Ideura Water Purification Plant for accepting us to visit their organization and for their contribution to develop our skill.

Furthermore‚ we would like to extend our deepest appreciation for the outstanding hospitality and support we received throughout our program. Both the JICA Tokyo and Kyushu staffs were instrumental in making our stay not only educational but also incredibly memorable. From the moment we arrived‚ the warmth and professionalism of the staffs ensured that we felt welcomed and well cared for. Moreover‚ the program has motivated us to apply the knowledge gained to our countries and organizations. We feel more equipped and inspired to implement integrated water resource management strategies that promote sustainable development and environmental conservation. In addition to it the exchange of ideas‚ traditions‚ and experiences between participant countries allowed us to broaden our perspectives and foster deeper mutual understanding. It was inspiring to learn about different cultures‚ while also sharing our own‚ creating a platform for meaningful dialogue and cooperation.

As we look forward to the future‚ we remain committed to upholding the values and knowledge imparted to us during this course. We are confident that the skills we have acquired will enable us to make meaningful contributions for solving the water resource related challenges in our country. We also hope to continue building strong connections‚ coordination‚ and support with JICA‚ KITA‚ and other stakeholders‚ so that together‚ we can foster long-lasting improvements in implementation of integrated water resource management on a global scale.
