Ladies and Gentlemen‚
It is truly an honour to stand here on behalf of all participants of the Urban Management for Sustainable Urban Development program. Today marks the conclusion of a truly meaningful and inspiring journey for all of us.
First and foremost‚ allow me to express our deepest gratitude to JICA for providing this invaluable opportunity. Over the past weeks‚ we have not only enhanced our knowledge about sustainable urban development‚ but also gained new perspectives on how to implement better policies and solutions in our own countries. The lessons and experiences we have shared here in Japan will undoubtedly help us build more resilient‚ inclusive‚ and sustainable cities back home.

To all JICA and KITA officials and experts who have generously shared their time and insights—thank you for your kindness‚ patience‚ and dedication. We are especially grateful to several individuals who have played a crucial role in making this program run so smoothly:
Nozomi-san‚ from the JICA Training Program Division‚ for your constant support and coordination throughout this training.
Hatta-san‚ our Course Leader‚ for your expert guidance and for sharing your deep knowledge in this program.
And of course‚ Mafumi-san‚ our Training Coordinator‚ for your tireless efforts to assist us every single day—ensuring we followed the schedule‚ reminding us to always be punctual‚ and yes‚ reminding us (again and again!) to complete our action plans. Your patience and energy have truly inspired us all.

We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to all the lecturers‚ city officials‚ and site visit hosts who welcomed us with warmth and openness‚ sharing practical lessons from Japanese cities such as Kitakyushu and Fukuoka. The experience of seeing real examples of sustainable urban development in action has left a lasting impression on us.
Beyond the technical knowledge‚ this program has given us something even more valuable—friendship and collaboration across nations. Each of us came from different backgrounds‚ yet we found common goals and shared dreams for better cities and better lives for our people.
Please‚ allow me to mention my fellow participants‚ who have made this journey so memorable:
Joyce-san from Zambia‚ Lionel-san from Côte d'Ivoire‚ Kamal-san from Egypt‚ Nellie-san from Papua New Guinea‚ Ruwan-san from Sri Lanka‚ An-san from Vietnam‚ Robert-san from Laos‚ Novel-san from Cambodia‚ Reza-san from Indonesia.
Together‚ we have learned‚ and shared countless moments of discovery. We may come from different parts of the world‚ but we share one vision—to build cities that are more sustainable‚ inclusive‚ and liveable for future generations.

As we return to our respective countries‚ we bring with us not only new knowledge‚ but also new friendships and a stronger commitment to make change happen. We sincerely hope that this is not the end‚ but rather the beginning of long-lasting cooperation—not only between each of our countries and JICA‚ but also among all of us participants‚ as partners and allies in sustainable urban development.
Before I close‚ on behalf of all participants‚ please allow me to extend our deepest apologies if during our stay there were any words or actions that might have caused discomfort or inconvenience in any way. It was never our intention‚ and we truly appreciate your patience‚ kindness‚ and understanding throughout the program.
Once again‚ on behalf of all participants‚ thank you very much‚ JICA and KITA‚ for your generosity‚ professionalism‚ and warm hospitality. You have truly made us feel part of one global family‚ working together toward a better urban future.
Terima Kasih.
Thank you very much.
